Do You Need Insurance or a Licence?

Class 3 (8mph) mobility scooters must be registered with the DVLA — it's free and we help every customer complete the form at handover. You don't need a driving licence, MOT or road tax.

Insurance isn't legally required for pavement use but is strongly recommended, particularly if you use dual-carriageways. We can point you at the specialist mobility insurers our customers use.
